Charles R. Jones passed away March 3, 2015, surrounded by his unwavering wife and loving family in Wilmington, NC.

He was born on May 23, 1946 to John P. and Catherine Wirsing Jones. Charles attended Kenmore East in Tonawanda, NY and entered the United States Marine Corp. in October, 1965. He was in the second battalion, 3rd Marines division, serving as a Sergeant through two tours of duty in Vietnam. He was honorably discharged October 1969. He belonged to the Boilermakers local 7 for over 30 years and after his retirement successfully ran CJ Consulting Services, managing the construction of cogeneration power plants in the United States and Canada.

Charles is survived by the wife he adored for over 38 years, Cindy; his children whom he thrived on – Shelly (Tom) Rider, Nanci (Jan) Janssen, Lori Fitch, Jonric C. Jones, Cristin (Michael Nolan) Jones, Lisa Pelletier, and five beloved grandchildren. Also survived by his sister-in-law Rosanne (Thomas Jones), brothers John Jones, Lawrence (Katherine) Jones, and sister Nancy (Joseph) Caliano. He was predeceased by his brother Thomas Jones and his parents.

Service to be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 7, 2015 at Wilmington Funeral & Cremation Chapel, 1535 S. 41st St. Wilmington, NC 28403.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made in memory of Charles R. Jones to the Duke Cancer Institute to support cancer research.     I am so sorry for your loss! Uncle Charlie brought amazing energy to every family event. He inspired me to always remember to smile and laugh and have fun. Some if the best times as a child were the trips to his house in Newfane and playing in the barn! You will always be in my heart❤️
