Charles Winston Harlow, Sr.


Charles W. Harlow, Sr. passed away Wednesday, November 9, 2011 at New Hanover Regional Medical Center.

Charles was born March 15th, 1934 in Halifax County to the late Cleveland Harlow and Callaree Allygood Harlow.

After serving in the Army Charles managed Rose Stores, Inc. and retired at age 55. He went on to manage Maxway stores located in Wilmington and later opened and managed three C-Chek stores for Marine Oil based out of Warsaw, NC.

He is survived by his wife Barbara of 5l years, one son Charles W. Harlow, Jr. and a very special Maltese “Mr. Jefferson”. He also leaves behind two sisters Joanne Wheeler (Frank) of Roanoke Rapids, NC and Yvonne Davis of Newport News, Va.; and many nephews and nieces.

Memorial services will be held at 1:00 pm Saturday at Wilmington Funeral Chapel.

In lieu of flowers contributions maybe made to the Lower Cape Fear Hospice, 1414 Physicians Drive, Wilmington, NC 28401.
