Christina Nicole Jenkins, left us far too soon on Saturday November 18, 2023, following a tragic motorcycle accident. She was a vibrant soul who lived her life with passion and zest, and her absence leaves an irreplaceable void in our hearts.

Born on January 1, 1985, in Greensboro, NC, Christina brought joy and laughter to everyone she encountered during her 38 years with us. Her infectious smile and quick wit could light up any room, leaving a lasting impression on those lucky enough to have known her.

Christina embarked on a remarkable professional journey, making a difference in various fields throughout her life. She began her career as a 911 dispatcher with the Burlington Police Department. She also studied cosmetology at Leons Beauty School of Greensboro before relocating to Wilmington in 2015, where she worked as a hairdresser for a short period before becoming a Phlebotomist with Wilmington Health and showcased her exceptional skills and dedication to helping people, a common theme throughout her life.

Beyond her work, Christina had a multitude of interests that showcased her creative spirit. She had a knack for all things crafty and artistic, finding solace and joy in her drawings and crafts. Her talents knew no bounds, reflecting her vibrant personality and endless imagination.

Christina’s deep compassion for animals led her to be actively involved with the Friends for Animals Humane Society. She was truly an animal lover at heart, always advocating for their well-being and spreading awareness about the importance of responsible pet ownership. Her devotion to this cause touched the lives of many fur babies and their owners alike.

A proud graduate of Northeast Guilford High School, class of 2003, Christina continued her education at Cape Fear Community College after moving to Wilmington. Where she studied Phlebotomy. However, her most cherished accomplishment was her son, Caleb. Christina’s love for Caleb was immeasurable, and her role as a mother brought her immense joy and fulfillment.

Christina is preceded in death by her father, Roger Dale Loman; paternal grandfather, Winfred Lee Loman; maternal grandmother, Betty Sue Butler; and stepfather, Paul R. Tatum.

Surviving are her Son Caleb her husband, James Jenkins,  her mother Cynthia Sue Tatum of Burgaw; grandmother  Barbara Ann Loman and her uncle Danny Meetze. She also leaves behind a  countless friends who will forever cherish the memories created with this incredible woman.

A celebration of Christina’s life will be held on Monday, November 27, 2023, at 2:00 PM at  Wilmington Funeral Chapel. Please join us as we remember, honor, and bid farewell to this extraordinary soul who brightened our lives in countless ways.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to the Friends for Animals Humane Society in Christina’s memory. Let us come together to honor her legacy by continuing her passion for helping those who cannot speak for themselves.

Though Christina may no longer be with us physically, her spirit will forever live on in our hearts. May she find eternal peace, forever reminding us to live life to the fullest.

Forever loved, forever cherished, and forever missed. Rest in peace, dear Christina.

So sorry to hear about the loss of a loving soul. If there is one thing I knew without a doubt about Christina it is that she loved her son Caleb more than anything in this world and she loved her mom and grandparents so much. She may have looked like a wild one but she had the most sensitive and caring heart. Will be praying for her family ❤️

I really wish I could be there to say a final goodbye. I regret not making the effort to visit you while you were still here. I have so many memories of you that make me laugh and smile. I was just talking about one of your shenanigans the morning I heard you had passed. You will always have a special place in my heart.

Christina, my wild child. Work & life just isn't the same without you. As I sit in my office I listen, in hopes to hear those feet coming down the hall as they did every morning. You made your presence known everywhere you went with that infectious smile & those awkward communication skills of yours :) I love you! I will miss you dearly! ❤ Keep the Lord on his toes, until I see you again.... my sweet friend.
