Claude “Teeny” H. Ellison, Retired, USN, 83, of Wilmington, passed away on Tuesday, March 27, 2012 at Lower Cape Fear Hospice & LifeCareCenter.

He was born in Columbia, SC on December 4, 1928, the son of the late Adam W. and Hattie Peak Ellison. He was preceded in death by four brothers and one sister.

Teeny was retired from the U.S. Navy with a total of twenty-one ships and duty stations. He was a member of the FRA, a member of Masonboro Baptist Church since 1984. He was also an avid golfer and was on several Navy golf teams. He also was a bowler and a member for several years with the Wilmington Bowling Association.

Teeny was the wonderful husband of fourty years to Barbara; great father to daughters, Deborah Rackley, Robbin Nelson (Robert); son, Allen Ellison (Amy); loved by his grandchildren, Christina Ferris, Bradley and Jacob Rackley, Michael and Robbie Nelson (Sarah), and Brittany and Easton Wyant; great-grandson, Connor Nelson; They all loved their “PawPaw” very much. And also two cats, Clarence and Aja that he also loved.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 – 11:00 am Saturday, March 31, 2012 at Masonboro Baptist Church, 1501 Beasley Rd., Wilmington, NC with a memorial service beginning at 11:00 am. Officiating will be Rev. Gordon Wright and Rev. Larry Knowles.

Much thanks to Andy Illobre, P.A. and the Masonboro Family Medicine and the nurses and staff at Lower Cape Fear Hospice. Also a special thanks to Elderhaus by The Lake and everyone that worked there. They made his last three years very special and he loved them all.

    Our hearts go out to the entire family during this time of Mr. Ellison's passing. I read the beautiful page for Mr. Ellison. What a wonderful man with many accomplishments and many loving family members. Surely the way he touched lives will live on for a long long time.
