Clyde Kendrick Farmer passed away at the age of 37 on Monday, December 7th, 2020 at his residence in Wilmington, NC.

Kendrick was born on January 10th, 1983 at New Hanover Memorial Hospital in Wilmington North Carolina to Clyde Keith Farmer and Lynette Thompson Farmer. He is survived by his parents, his son, Dorian Gray Farmer, his former wife, Maria Diaz, his sister, Johanna Hill and her husband Brad Hill, and his niece Lynette Hill. He is preceded in death by his grandparents Albert Ray Thompson, Wilma Welch Thompson, Allen Houston, Marguerite Hardie Houston, Clyde Grover Farmer, and Mary Ellen Farmer. He graduated from E.A. Laney High School in 2001 as a member of the National Honor Society. He was a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Wilmington, Summa Cum Laude, with a double major in Criminal Justice and Sociology. He worked for many years at Harris Teeter and later Vocational Rehab of North Carolina. He lived in Wilmington his entire life.

He enjoyed spending time with his son and his cats (Domino and Little Boy), watching Tik Tok videos, Netflix, spending time with his friends, and making and eating unique culinary dishes. He had a dry sense of humor and was known for being facetious. His unique personality, sense of humor, and clothing style are infamous among all who knew him. He was extremely generous and thoughtful to everyone in his life and practiced random acts of kindness. He loved perusing for gifts to pass along to his son, niece, and family.

A memorial service will be held in his honor after the COVID-19 pandemic has ended and it is safe to gather again. He will be buried at the Thompson Family Cemetery in Whiteville, NC, on Saturday, December 12, 2020.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his honor to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.

    Sorry to hear about Kendrick. I remember seeing him at a family reunion when he was young. He was a handsome, sweet, little boy. It sounds like he grew into a very nice young man.
