Cora Ellen Schiller, a beloved mother, grandmother, and talented funnel cake connoisseur, passed away on her 77th birthday, October 31, 2023, in Willard, North Carolina. Born in Jersey City, New Jersey on October 31, 1946, Cora brought joy and laughter to everyone she met throughout her colorful life.

Cora spent over 35 years operating Fast Eddies Concession, where she became renowned for her delectable funnel cakes. With each crispy bite, Cora served up not just a tasty treat but also a sprinkle of happiness to all who indulged. She had a knack for making people smile, maybe even forget about their diet for a moment, and simply enjoy the simple pleasures in life.

Although Cora didn’t have any notable achievements to boast of, she left an indelible mark on her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, William Edward Burke, Sr. and Helen Olga Chyewch Burke, as well as her husband of 36 years, Edward Schiller, and her brother, William Edward Burke, Jr.

Cora is survived by her loving daughter, Nancy S. Anderson of Willard, NC, and her adored grandson, Zachary Anderson, who also resides in the same town. Additionally, she leaves behind two special cousins, Carol Woods and Susan Aquilar Garcia, who shared countless laughs and memories with her.

In addition to her human companions, Cora also cherished the company of her loving pets, Miss Kittie and Lacy. They provided her with endless cuddles and unwavering loyalty throughout the years.

At this time, no services are planned to celebrate Cora’s life. However, her memory will live forever in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her. As we say goodbye to Cora, let us remember her infectious happiness and the joy she brought into the world. May her funnel cakes and delightful spirit continue to inspire us all.

    My cousin Cora was one in a million. She would always make you laugh and put a smile on your face. She was sharp as a whip and one tough cookie. I will miss our conversations so much, she was my go to for any questions about the family especially grandparents. We would laugh and reminisce about the old days so often, we had a lot of childhood memories. I am so glad that I got to speak to her prior to her passing and we spoke for quite a while and she ended it with got to go now I'm tired,talk to you later, love you. I love you so much Cora and I'll miss you dearly but I find peace of mind knowing you are with your loved ones and the family. R.I.P. 🙏💞🙏

    We have known Cora for about 25 years. We have traveled with her and Eddie to various events and helped with the Funnel Cakes. She was always very down to earth and would tell you exactly what she thought. Always cracking us up. We love her like family. We will miss her every day.
