    Brenda Henson Locklear says:
I grew up in Castle Hayne and Mr. Meyer was our mail carrier while we lived out there. I remember one Christmas morning there was a knock on the door and Mr. Meyer delivered a package to our house. He certainly did much more than what was expected of him. I salute him for his service to our country and his many years of working for the Post Office/ Postal Service.

daddy, the 62 years we shared were not enough-i will miss all the stories, jokes and one liners you told .you taught me that almost anything can be fixed with duck tape,be frugal,be thankful, enjoy each day,and love to mow grass.will never forget the last movie we watched together-62 version of cape fear and your comments of what you would have done to defend your family.i have so many memories of helping to deliver mail at christmas, watching you build and work on your hydroplanes and fire trucks, our family vacations.thank you for being my dad!
