Memorial Gifts & Donations

Cynthia Autry Rivenbark, 64, of Wilmington, went home to be with her Heavenly Father on Wednesday, November 30, 2022.

Cyndy was born on July 2, 1958 in Erwin, N.C., daughter of the late Eldon Owen Autry and Shirley Gregory Canady.

Cyndy’s infectious positivity, uplifting spirit and smile that could light up a room made her an instant friend to almost anyone she met. Known by her friends and family as a faithful prayer warrior, she always had an encouraging word or favorite scripture to share and a warm hug to give to anyone she encountered. She always made a point to say I love you, so you never had a doubt how she felt about you. Compassionately caring for her patients since 1996 as a nurse, Cyndy touched many lives with her empathy and strong faith. She adored her children and grandchildren and found the most joy in making special memories with them.

Cyndy was preceded in death by her parents Eldon Owen Autry and Shirley Gregory Canady; her beloved sister Bridgett Jones (Mike); and her niece Kandace Jones.

She is survived by her daughter Brandi Shea Lennon, son James Ray Rivenbark Jr (Anna); beloved grandchildren Liam and Aiden Wallace, and Bella Rivenbark; fiancé Steve Fincannon; sisters: Debbie Ray (David) and Delynn Fowler (Charles); nephews and nieces Zachary Ray, Amanda Back (Brett), Charles Fowler (Amy), and Wendi Carroll (Aaron); as well as great nephews and great nieces Blake and Austin Back, Brayden Fritz, Kandace Fowler, and Kaine & Baley Carroll. Cyndy left a host of family and special friends to cherish her memory forever!

The family will receive friends for visitation from 6-8pm Monday, December 5 at Wilmington Funeral Chapel. A service celebrating her life will be held on Tuesday, December 6 at 11am at Wilmington Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow in Oleander Memorial Gardens.

    Bradley Blake says:
She was such a kind soul with an open heart for children. She was my Sunday school teacher growing up in church. She always smiled and was positive. May God bless her soul.
