Dakota Lamar Ledet, age 18, of Hampstead, NC, unexpectedly passed away surrounded by his Family and loved ones at Novant New Hanover Regional Medical Center on Wednesday, December 28, 2022, at 3:33am. Dakota was born in New Hanover County, NC, on December 11, 2004. He is preceded in death by his Grandfather (Papa), Frank Edwards of Hampstead, NC. Survived by his Fiancée Emma Todd, Mother Amy Edwards and Stepfather Jason Kellerman, of Hampstead, NC, Father, Gerald Ledet (Buddy) and Stepmother Marjorie Ledet of Rocky Point, NC, Brother Dominic Ledet and fiancée Tiffany Kiblin, of Hampstead, NC, Brother Dylan Ledet and Fiancée Kay Yeomans of Hampstead, NC, Grandmother (Nana), Eloise Edwards of Hampstead, NC, Grandparents, Ed and Darlene Ledet of Jefferson, NC. He is also survived by several aunts, uncles, cousins and friends who greatly loved and admired him. Dakota will always be remembered as a goof ball who made you laugh and a kid that loved living life to the fullest, as he has returned home to his Lord and Savior he will leave us with fond memories, love and peace.

The family will receive visitors from 5-7 pm, Wednesday, January 4, 2023, at the Wilmington Funeral Chapel, 1535 South 41st Street in Wilmington. A graveside service will be held at 11 am, Thursday, January 5, 2023, at Sea Lawn Memorial in Hampstead, NC.

So sorry for the families loss of Dakota ,we were in the ER lobby waiting with part of the family because we also had someone in the er being treated . before we left we had heard he was in ICU being treated we are praying for you all . we to lost a family member Frank Lee about the same time he passed on Thursday . there is not enough time in the world to waste please stay safe , much love to you all. prayers sent .

Ledet's family; God bless each of you as you face one of life's hardest circumstances. His Papa, Frank, was my nephew. Eloise and Amy, we love you and hated to hear of Ledet's passing. May the good Lord bless and keep each one of you is our prayer. Let's all make plans to meet in heaven if we haven't already. I know Ledet would want to see each of us again.
