Dale was born on October 29, 1948 in Bay Shore, NY. His parents Edward Morton Dalton, and June Marie Dalton precede him in death.

Dale was a loving husband to his wife of over 30 years, Iris Janik Dalton of Wilmington, NC, and a devoted father to his children, James Michael Dalton of Suffolk, VA, Paul Richard Dalton of Smithfield, VA, Daniel Edward Dalton of Selkirk, NY, Rachel Elyse Dalton of Austin, TX, Kim Iris Newman and Kris Ann Keane of Patchogue, NY, who are left to remember his large and loving heart, constant teasing and humor, as well as his keen ability to fix just about anything. He will be missed not only by his family, but also by the many people that had the privilege to know him and call him their friend.

Dale retired as a Master Sargent after serving faithfully and proudly, defending our nation, in the United States Air Force for over 23 years as a Dedicated Crew Chief on C-130 aircraft. We will forever be in his debt for his honorable service to our nation.

Grew up with Dale in Patchogue and was on the football team with him. Life took us in different directions; into there Air Force and me into the army. May he rest in peace and may God grant his family the peace of knowing that one day they will see Dale again.

To the Dalton Family -- We are so sorry for the loss of your loved one, Dale. I'm sure you have so many wonderful memories of him to ease some of the pain of his loss. Speaking from experience, I know it is hard to see them leave this earth, but be glad Dale is no longer in pain.

    Danielle Morales says:
Knowing Mr. Dalton through a friend of mine (his cheerful strong spirited daughter Rachel Dalton), I have a few memories of Dale and his daughter laughing all the time in every phone call they had together. Dale loved to joke around and make light of any situation even the serious ones. He was brave and wanted his daughter to not worry about the seriousness of his medical condition. He always showed a brave face about anything serious and even added a bit of cheer and laughter to keep the fear away. He fought a good fight against cancer and he has shown that in the face of a devistating disease, the human spirit can be light hearted, positive and brave until the end. What an inspiring soul he has to go through all he has gone through in life and still have laughter to offer people. An inspiring spirit he has. Rest in peace Dale.
