Darlene “Tina” “Spanky” Ganey Brock, of Wilmington, died Friday, May 10, 2013, surrounded by family and friends.
She was born to the late Billy Ray Ganey and Jeanette Cumber on October 21, 1961. After the loss of her father, she was raised by her mother and stepfather, the late Bobby “Fuzzy” Cumber, Sr.
Tina married the late Wiley Dale Brock on May 20, 1992, and they were happily married for many years.
She is survived by two daughters, Sarah Malissa Ivey Clewis and Helena Michelle Brock; one son, Noah Wiley Brock; two loving grandchildren, Elsie Mae Jackson and William Boden Clewis. She is also survived by a sister Wanda Butler; two brothers Bobby Cumber, Jr, and Keith Cumber; many nieces and nephews; and Elizabeth Stanfield, who was like a mother, and all of Wilmington.
Tina was like a mother to many, she always had music in her heart, love for all, as well as something good to eat. She worked as chef for many years in Wilmington and also made beautiful wedding cakes.
A special thanks to the Williams and Fain families who stood by her from the beginning, her Aunt Brenda Bozeman, and the late Vivian Lowe.
Family will receive friends from 1-7 PM, Thursday, at 1017 Francis Marion Dr. in Wilmington.
