David A. Gause, age 63 of Hampstead, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, November 24, 2016. He was born and raised in Wilmington by the late Robbie and Evelyn Gause. Also, preceding him in death was his beautiful daughter, Sandra Gause.

Surviving David is his loving and faithful wife Rhonda Carroll Gause; Daughters, Regina Baker and Tina Hess, Step-Daughters, Jamie Stitz, Kelly Gambler and Karen Johnson, Sisters, Sylvia Gurganious, Dottie Buell and husband Bob, and Sister-In-Law, Cindy Carroll. David also, leaves behind many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

David was a very kind and devoted man that worked hard his entire life. He was an automotive mechanic for many years when he decided to open, Atlantic Foreign Automotive. David loved music so much it seemed that he knew the words to nearly every song ever played. He enjoyed anything and everything that had to do with water. He and Rhonda enjoyed many evenings on the porch dancing by themselves with music and the sound of the water in the background.

There are so many wonderful things to say, but not enough time or space to say them. David will live on in our hearts forever and will be sadly missed. The family would like to thank all of the wonderful doctors and their staff for their care and support.

Services will be announced at a later date.

In lieu of flowers the family has asked that donations be made to Lower Cape Fear Hospice or their favorite charity.

    Kelly Gambler says:
David was a kind and funny little fella. He had a great sense of humor and he enjoyed life to the fullest. He found a best friend in his wife Rhonda, and the two of them shared 4 special years together. David will be missed, but he is home now. Rest in peace.
