David Bishop Arrington, born on June 10, 1955 in Greenville, South Carolina, left this world to embark on his eternal journey on November 14, 2023, in Wilmington, North Carolina. He was surrounded by his loved ones as he peacefully passed away.

Throughout his life, David radiated joy and inspiration to all those fortunate enough to know him. His love for the mountains was a passion that brought him endless happiness and tranquility. Whether it was hiking through lush forests or marveling at breathtaking views, David found solace in those magnificent peaks.

A man of strong family values, David cherished every moment spent with his loved ones. His warmth and kindness created an unbreakable bond between him and his family. His memory will forever live on in the hearts of those he leaves behind. He was preceded in death by his mother, Una Bishop Spaulding and her husband, Harry Spaulding, his father Walter William Arrington, II; a sister Nancy L. Norris; a brother Walter William Arrington, III.

David was blessed with a large and loving family who will deeply miss him. He is survived by his five brothers: Perry Robert Arrington of Leland, NC, Patrick Warren Arrington and wife, Jennie of Greenville, SC, William Floyd Arrington of Orangeburg, SC, Phil Spaulding and companion, Kim Olsen of Leland/Holly Springs, NC, and Lee Wayne Arrington of Anderson, SC. Also mourning his loss is his brother-in-law Sam Norris of Wilmington, NC; a sister-in-law, Pam Dobson also of Wilmington, NC; friends, Jennie Stanfield and Theresa Cannady both of Brunswick, GA and David Machand of Jacksonville, NC.

Among the many nieces and nephews who cherished their uncle, David was a source of guidance and inspiration to, Ace and his wife, Traci, Sabrina Johnson, Andrea Norris, Samantha Thompson and her husband, Brooks, and Walter Roy Dobson and his wife, Krista, as well as many great-nieces and nephews were all touched by his love and guidance.

In the celebration of David’s life, a service will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, December 2, 2023, in the chapel of Wilmington Funeral Village Road Chapel, located at 525 Village Road, Leland, NC 28451.
