David Bruce Gore, age 92 a longtime resident of the Wrightsboro Community passed away on Friday, July 21, 2023.
Bruce was born in Columbus County, NC on December 25, 1930.
Bruce loved his Lord Jesus Christ, his family, and his friends. He was a member of Wrightsboro Baptist church since December 7, 1975 and a long standing member of the Nick Mintz Sunday School Class and the Baptist Men. He was a proud veteran of the US Army. A member of Wilmington Lodge #319 A.F.&A.M., Sudan Shriners, New Bern., Wilmington Shrine Club & Sudan Drum & Bugle Corps. Bruce was an Entrepreneur, Restaurant Owner, & retired Professional PipeFitter. He had a love for fishing, camping, motorcycles, and traveling.
Bruce is survived by his loving wife of 70 years, Mable Ward Gore; sons, Danny Gore and wife Donna, David Gore and wife Beverly, and Donnie Gore and wife Andrea; grandchildren, Shannon Gore Allen (Jamie), Joshua Franklin Gore, Ryan Douglas Gore (Diana), Robert Dale Gore, Jordan Gore Watts, Garrett David Gore (Alexis) all of Wilmington, and Dillon Matthew Gore (Cheyenne) of Oak Island. Great Grandchildren, Branton Parker Allen, Brody Christopher Allen, Grayson Logan Gore, Cameron Elizabeth Watts, Joc Tyler Gore, and Mia Marie Gore. One brother, Rodney Houston Gore, and sister Sadie Gore Fowler both of Tabor City. Bruce was blessed to have a close and loving relationship with his brother-in-law and all of his sister-in-laws.
He was preceded in death by his son, Robert Douglas Gore; parents, Robbie Delon Gore and Alma Spivey Gore; siblings Estelle Gore Williams, Inez Gore Ward, Rebecca Faye Gore and Vonnie Gore Hodge.
Funeral services are planned for 2 pm Thursday, July 27, 2023 at Wrightsboro Baptist Church. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be at the church an hour prior to the services.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts can be given to the Wrightsboro Bapist Church Handy-Man Ministry, Shriners Hospitals for Children, or St. Jude Childrens Hospital.
