Coach Wright was one of my favorite people I ever worked with anywhere. We worked at WRHS before he left for the coast. Last I saw him was on a family vacation a few years ago. What a great sense of humor and way of looking at life! The world is a better place because of David Wright!

DW, we go back to 1978. That’s 43 years of friendship. You are my oldest and dearest friend. Me & Dave didn’t start off as friends, but foes. The best 2 players on different Y football teams. He was QB for Landis and I the RB for China Grove. In 1980 Landis only lost 1 game 7-6. That was to me. I jokingly never let him forget it. I reminded him of same April 5th this year. I was so happy for my family and his to spend time together this Spring. 4 years passed since we last seen each other. He greeted me as always with a hug, saying “Scottie.” Too many memories, stories, laughs and tears to share. I will never be the same. Lord, you got a Great man and one hell of a baseball player! Look after him. I feel heartbroken for Michele and the kids. Millie and Jason, I love you both and are praying for you. David, thanks for being my best friend! I love you! Scottie
