David Ray McLemore

David Ray McLemore, age 74 of Wilmington passed away Friday, August 5, 2022 at his home.

Dave was born in Archer City, TX on December 30, 1947. His parents were Roscoe Lee McLemore and Mary Margaret Carriger McLemore.

Dave’s career spanned over many years as a Nuclear Engineer, Manager, and Executive in manufacturing and technology for General Electric and later, ADVENT, an international venture capital company. He and Carolyn lived all over the world during his career, including Wilmington, NC, Cincinnati, Ohio, Cleveland, Ohio, Germany, Sweden, England, and the Netherlands.

Dave is survived by his wife of 34 years, Carolyn Michele Riggs McLemore; children, Nicki (Jason) Sherrill, Mark “Mac” (Kristi) McLemore, April Doetsch and Bennett “Ben” Tidwell, Stephanie Doetsch and W.K. Kennedy, and Alexandra (Cody) Boston; grandchildren, Morgan, Brittni, Mary, Johns, Miller, Halie, Chase, Jackson, Luke, Meadow, McKinley, Leo and Shelby; great grandchildren, Paisley, Brantley, and Everleigh; brother, Freddie “Fred” McLemore and sister Sue McLemore Outhier; special cousin, Neva (Wayne) Curtis and special aunt Lousie “Mom” Jones.

A Celebration of Life gathering will be Saturday, September 24, 2022, at the Gazebo at David and Carolyn’s home, 1708 SE Harbor Lane, Wilmington, NC.
