David Ray Russell

David Ray Russell, Sr. 66, of Wilmington died Tuesday, June 14, 2011 at UNC Hospital in Chapel Hill.

He was known as the “Tooth Fairy” to the dental field and “Pops” to his Harley family, he owned and operated Hanover Dental Laboratory. Born in New Hanover County on August 14, 1944 the son of the late John Quince, Sr. and Nellie Irene Russell.

Surviving are his wife of 48 years Linda Ragan Russell, sons David Russell, Jr., Tim Russell and wife Michele, Sonny Russell and wife Christy, brothers Jimmy, William and Ernest, sisters Madeline Jordan and Carolyn Reel, 10 grandchildren all of Wilmington.

Funeral services will be conducted 6:00 PM Friday, June 17, 2011 at Silver Lake Baptist Church. The family will see friends after the service.

    I first met David and Linda and the boys when they were building there house beside my parents in wilmington, Ive thought alot of both of them all these years, My sister married into the family, but then divorced but we still had contact with them and loved them all as if they where a part of our family. My Nephew Weston is there grandson and he loved his grandpa David from which he was also named after,he will be missed deeply by all. I have you all in my prayers Russell Family.

    i am so sorry for your family's loss. i had the pleasure to know david for over 30 years and part of that time i had the honor to be his daughter-in-law and he was such a nice person that even though i was no longer in the family he still treated me nice and respectful. the world will be without a true gentleman and my son will never be the same without his grandaddy. my heart and prayers go out to all of yall. love yall
