David Richard Lanning age 77 of Carolina Beach, passed away October 29, 2013 at New Hanover Regional Medical Center.

Born in Greensboro, NC to the late David Gilmer Lanning and Minnie Madeline Ridenhour. Mr. Lanning was retired from Southern Mechanical Products of Greensboro, NC and a member of Cape Fear Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Karen Pearce of Carolina Beach; daughter, Sheila L. Allen of Greensboro, NC; brother, Brian and Natsume of Goldsboro; sisters, Barbara Durant of Las Vegas, Mae and Bill Craddock of Greensboro, Kathy and Dewey Smith of Jamestown.

Memorial Service will be 2 PM Saturday November 2, 2013 at Cape Fear Baptist Church with Rev David Craddy officiating.

Visitation is one hour prior to the service.

Memorials can be made to the Cape Fear Baptist Church Children’s Fund.

Revelation 21:3,4 states “And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away”.
