David Wallace Preo, 69, of Wilmington, NC, passed away after an extended illness at the Silver Stream Health and Rehabilitation Center on Saturday, Aug. 28, 2010.

He was born in Auburn, ME and was a 20-year veteran of the United States Marine Corp in which he served our country during 3 tours of duty in the Vietnam War. After retirement from the military he settled in NC and volunteered his services to the Disabled American Veterans.

Funeral and burial services will be held at 10:00 am, Wednesday, September 8, 2010 in the Coastal Carolina State Veterans Cemetery, 110 Montford Point Rd in Jacksonville, NC.

He is survived by his wife Masako Ikeda Preo, 82 of Havelock, NC; children, David W. Preo Jr. and his wife, Erica of Siler City, Gina Lynn Hamilton, and her husband, Guy, of Waynesville; sister, Beverly Mann of Middleton, MA, brother Robert Preo and his wife, Carol of Auburn, ME and his granddaughter, Kailey Hamilton of Waynesville.
