Memorial Gifts & Donations

Debbie Teachey Long, age 65 went home to the Lord on Tuesday the 13th of February 2024. She was born in New Hanover County on July 30, 1958 to Charlotte Lavora King Teachey and the late Jacob Adron Teachey at James Walker Memorial Hospital as their first child of five.

She is survived by her son, Christopher Long and wife Ashley of Gastonia, NC; grandchildren, Annabel Louise and Adron Wade; Mother, Charlotte Teachey of Wilmington; brothers, Mark Teachey and wife Debbie of Selma, NC, Danny Teachey and wife Susie of Leland, NC; sisters, Renae Beville and husband George of Ocala, Florida and Cyndie Moore and husband Wendol of Winnabow, NC; and all her nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Debbie lived her whole life in Wilmington, NC and member of Long Leaf Baptist Church. Debbie’s true passions were her daily Christian walk, her family, and telling anyone that she would speak to about the love of Jesus. Her infectious laughter and beautiful reassuring smile would light up the room and letting all know that she would be praying for them. Debbie set the example of a wonderful child of Christ and sacrificed much in order that Jesus was Lord of her life. It was virtually a daily practice that Debbie would be mailing out handwritten cards with words of encouragement and bible scriptures. Debbie also loved her time at Ocean House and spoke nothing but love for the time she went there.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the Long Leaf Baptist Church family and Ocean House.

Debbie’s life will be celebrated during services at Long Leaf Baptist Church on Saturday, February 17th, 2024. The family will receive visitors from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM, with the service beginning at 1:00 PM. Following the service, Deborah will be laid to rest at Oleander Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial donations be made to the Ocean House PSR at the link above at “Memorial Gifts and Donations”, as Debbie believed in supporting causes aimed at helping others.

7 I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. 8 Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day—and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing. Amen-in loving memory , your Cousin April Teachey Royal
