Delores Sellers Gore Lynch, affectionately known as Ma’D, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 19, 2023, at the SECU Hospice House in Bolivia. She was born on July 1, 1946, in Southport, NC, making her 77 years old at the time of her departure.

Ma’D led a colorful life, working at various places throughout her career, ultimately retiring from BTS of Bolivia, NC. Her dedication and hard work were evident to anyone who had the pleasure of crossing paths with her.

Ma’D was preceded in death by her parents, Claude R. Sellers and Ester Hinson Sellers, her sister Minnie Reynolds Sellers, her son Kendrick Gore, her daughter Becky Rogers and her husbands George Gore and Allen (Goober) Lynch. She also joins the love of her life Glenn (Mr. Ed) Estep in eternal rest.

Surrounded by loved ones, Ma’D is survived by her daughters, Barbie Gore Cutrell (Tim) and Georgeanna Gore Bowers and husband Jeff and April Price McKimm, . Additionally, there are nine bonus children who held a special place in her heart who she cherished as her own.

Her legacy continues through her brother James Robert (Bubba) Sellers and sister Barbara Holden; grandchildren: Lynn, Christina, Aaron, Reyanna, Anna, Matthew, Bryan, George, Shanna, Alyssa, and Abbigail. The family has grown even further with thirteen great-grandchildren and numerous bonus great-grandchildren. Ma’D’s love and joy extended far and wide, touching the lives of all those around her.

To commemorate the remarkable life of Ma’D, a Celebration of Life Service will be held at 5:00 PM on Wednesday, October 25, 2023, at the Wilmington Funeral Chapel. It will be a gathering filled with memories, laughter, and love, as we honor the extraordinary woman that Ma’D was.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to be made to Samaritan’s Purse (www.samaritanspurse.org) in Ma’D’s memory. May her spirit soar among the stars, forever reminding us of the love and wit she brought into our lives.

    I had the pleasure of meeting Ma only recently, in the final weeks. It was obvious she had a strong spirit, and a quick wit. She had an easy way about her that made you immediately feel welcome and comfortable even when she was hurting so bad. My deepest condolences to all of her family and friends.
