Memorial Gifts & Donations

Dennis of Leland NC was 59 years old when he unexpectedly passed away at his residence on December 31st 2023. He was born on August 12th 1964 in Baltimore, Maryland to the late Russell Comer and Lora Comer.

Dennis was survived by his sister, Barbara English, and his brothers Johnny Bradley, Edward Comer, his children Devlin Comer, Dennis Blake Comer, Barbara Greaves, and Stephen Comer. His grandchildren, Kaycee Greaves, Dalton Greaves, Liam Greaves, and Elias Greaves. He was preceded in death by his brother Billy Bradley, and James Russell Comer. I would like to mention that was also preceded in death by his twin brother who passed during the birth. I like to think that Dennis has the heart and personality of two because of this. Miley the family dog has to be mentioned otherwise he would be disappointed if not. Miley was constantly by his side. He had a strong love and bond with Miley. Dennis remained friends and lived with for several years the mother of his children and his ex-wife Patricia Self(mamacita). He once told his mother that he would never marry another, and he made that true until the very end. They had a very strong bond and friendship even though they were divorced. Dennis had a very loving bond with Eldon Self. Eldon is Patricia’s youngest child. Eldon may not be biologically Dennis’s child but he sure would treat him with the same love of his own.

Dennis was a very lengthy and loyal member of the Pizza Hut family. He stayed a loyal employee for 41 years. He was an incredibly hard worker and fantastic pizza maker. He hated the slightest thought of missing work. Dennis had a deep love for Books, Music, Film and Wrestling. Dennis was a huge fan of the late great King of Rock and Roll Elvis Presley. Dennis has one of the biggest hearts. He was a kind, loving, and funny human being. Dennis could have been known as the class clown. He was always trying to make you laugh no matter the time, place or situation. Even if he was telling you the same joke that you heard before he still made it funny. I believe his best quality was that he was an amazing father. He would have done anything for his children and grandchildren.

    PATRICIA SELF says:
Dennis you are loved and missed so much already. Always know how much we all loved and cared about you. Your kids and grandbabies love you. You were always a great dad and I thank you for loving them the way you did and I think changed more diapers then I did haha. They will never forget the fun times you had together. We have cried many tears so far but have also had some deep laughs talking about the funny things you would do and say. Thank you for being such a great friend to me. I have known you for 34 years. Even though we were divorced we always stayed close. Thank you for loving Eldon the way you did. He loved talking to you daily. You always found a ride to visit him at the hospital when he would be admitted in Wilm. You truly cared. It meant alot and never went unnoticed. We brought one of your covers home for Miley to sleep with. She loves and misses you. I know at Christmas you were looking for lava lamps for the kids but couldn't find any. So last night I searched the internet and found them all a lava lamp that they will get wrapped and signed from grandpa. There were also 2 gifts you were already talking about going in half for Eldon for his birthday. He will get those 2 gifts from you for his birthday. They will always know that grandpa loved them.
