Diane J. Burton, age 74 of Wilmington passed away Sunday, August 1, 2021 at the Lower Cape Fear LifeCare Center.
She was born in Wilmington on May 21, 1947 to the late Duane Josenhans and Hazel Croom Josenhans.
Diane was a longtime member of Pine Valley United Methodist Church. Diane was a full time wife, mother and grandmother and enjoyed spending time with her family. She enjoyed cooking, cruising on cruise ships with her family, and shopping.
Diane is survived by her husband of 55 years, Clayton Dally “CD” Burton, Jr.; her daughter and son in-law Tracie Burton Mathews and James Mathews; her beautiful grandchildren whom she loved very much, Carly Reynolds, Kailey Mathews and Kyle Mathews; and her sister, Donna Cunningham and husband Bob; also two sisters in law and nieces and nephews. Remembered is her daughter, Ashley Burton Reynolds who passed away June 8, 2017
Celebration of Life Ceremony will be held 11 am Thursday, August 5, 2021 at Wilmington Funeral Chapel, led by Rev. Sam Hill. The family will greet friends starting at 10 am.
The family will gather at the home of her daughter, 6304 Riva Ridge Rd. Wilmington, NC 28411
