Dolores Rae King Croom 79 years of age, passed away Tuesday, May 28,2019 at New Hanover Regional Medical Center.

“Deedle” was born August 17, 1939 in Wilmington, N.C., to the late Albert Ray and Pearl Lee King. She was the oldest of five children, one preceded her in death. Dolores is survived by her childhood sweetheart and husband of 60 years, Louis R. Croom, Sr. Also left to cherish her memory are three children, Louis R. Croom, Jr., Robert Clark Croom, and Julie Croom Tweedy, four grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Dolores loved the Lord Jesus and spending time with her family and friends. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, and friend to everyone she met.

A visitation will be held from 5-7pm on Friday, May 31, 2019 at Wilmington Funeral Chapel. A funeral service will be held at 10am Saturday, June 1, 2019 at Wilmington Funeral Chapel with burial to follow at Oleander Memorial Gardens.

    I did not meet Mrs. Croom but her daughter, Julie, has been a very good friend for many years. Julie shared many memories with meof her mother. I know she must have been a great lady and a great mom to have raised such a wonderful daughter. My sincerest condolences to Mrs. Croom’s husband, her children, grandchildren, and all extended family.
