Don Wyckoff Norris, born on February 12, 1949, in Jacksonville, NC, passed away on March 24, 2024 at Lower Cape Fear Hospice care in Wilmington, NC, at the age of 75.

After graduating from New Hanover High School in 1967, Don proudly served his country in the United States Coast Guard from 1968 to 1972. Don dedicated many years to his profession as an electrician and was the Head of the Electrical Department at UNCW when he retired in 1999. He is survived by his beloved wife and High School Sweetheart, Beth McKellar Watkins Norris, stepson Chad Watkins and his girlfriend, Melanie Kelly; stepdaughter Erin Watkins Cohan and her husband Jason Cohan along with their children Jason and Joshua. Don was a proud Father figure to his stepchildren and Grandfather “Papa Don” to his Grandsons. He enjoyed spending hours teaching the Grandsons how to use hand and power tools in his shop, archery, cooking waffles and cupcakes, and countless other projects the three of them dreamed up, including “lawn skiing” and “Hurricane” on the hammock.

Don was preceded in death by his parents Howard Don Norris and Dorothy Wyckoff Norris, his brother George Norris, half-brother Earl Norris, and half-sister Beryl Norris.
