Donald “Don” E. Pitt, died peacefully at home in Carolina Beach, NC on June 21, 2014 at the age of 80.

Don retired from the United States Marine Corp after serving more than 20 years. He loved his country, his family, fishing and life!

Don was born April 29, 1934 in Sebastopol, CA, son of the late Clarence and Grace Pitt.

Don is preceded in death by his wife, Dixie Lee Pitt, who was the love of his life. He was a wonderful son, brother, husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather.

Donald E. Pitt is survived by his children, Vicky Evans, Donna Baughman, Donald E. Pitt II and Timothy Pitt, as well as many more family members and friends. He will be greatly missed by all!

The family extends their appreciation to his Hospice team as well as the Carolina Beach Volunteer Fire Dept. and all who have helped take great care of him.

An inurnment service with full military honors will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday November 12, 2014 at the Coastal Carolina State Veterans Cemetery in Jacksonville, NC.
