Donald Edgar Eakins, 44, of Burgaw died early Friday, January 22, 2010.

Donald was born in New Hanover County April 17, 1964 to the late Walter Pate Eakins, Sr. and is survived by his mother Virginia Eakins, with whom he had lived with most of his life.

Also surviving are a son Matthew Eakins of Willard, Brothers Walter Eakins, Jr, of Currie; Michael S. Eakins of Willard and Johnny Eakins of Currie, sisters Mildred Gurganious of Currie and Donna Tatum of Burgaw. Many nieces, nephews, aunts, cousins and friends.

A memorial service will be conducted 6:30 P.M Monday, January 25, 2010 at Northside Baptist Church on N. College Road, Wilmington

The family will see friends after the service.
