Donald Lee Taylor, age 88 of Wilmington passed away Friday, July 17, 2020 at New Hanover Regional Medical Center.

He was born in Fayetteville, NC on June 2, 1932 to the late Lee McKinley Taylor and Dorothy Hankinson Taylor.

Donald was a proud veteran of the US Navy and was a graduate of Old Dominion University. He worked for Western Electric for 15 years and traveled all over the United States. After his career with Western Electric, he served as a Teacher at Hoggard High School for nine years and then served at Cape Fear Community College retiring as instructor in the Instrument Technology Department, where he received several awards and was admired and respected by his many students.

Donald is survived by his wife, Jeri Knowles Taylor; children Gregory Taylor and wife Sonja, Glenn Taylor and Kim Taylor Lewis; grandchildren, Scott Taylor, Heather Taylor, Donald Wray Lewis and Tiffany Lewis; and seven great grandchildren. Preceded in death by his sister, Jean F. Taylor.

    Mt Taylor was a good man & a smart man. In school he taught electronics to many students, some of the students pursued electronics for a living. He will truly be missed.

    I have so many great memories with this man!!! So happy he got to meet my children!!! I was a granddaddy’s girl and always will be!! I use to love going to my grandparents house when I was younger and going swimming in the hot tub, my grandad use to always get it setup for me so I could!! I would spend hours in there at a time!!! So many sweet memories that I have!!! Heaven gained a great angel!!! And I will forever miss my sweet grandaddy!!! We will miss him dearly! I love you grandaddy!!!
