Captain Ken Morris USCG (Ret.) says:
Very sorry to hear of Don's passing. He did indeed serve his country with honor and distinction in the Coast Guard. His talent and dedication were invaluable to me when we served together in USCGC NORTHWIND, especially when we were deployed to polar regions. Carol and I just returned from Europe with very nasty colds and don't wish to infect any of you, particularly at this difficult time. We must stay away from the visitation for that reason, but please be assured we will be there with you in spirit. Don was a wonderful shipmate and all around great guy. I have nothing but fine memories of his infectious enthusiasm and delightful sense of humor. He was a true gentleman.
