“Downtown” Donna Brown Born in Durham, NC, July 2, 1952. Her family moved to the Wilmington area in 1960. Donna graduated from New Hanover High School in 1970. She worked for Bank Of America beginning in 1983 and was Vice President of Sales And Marketing.

Donna leaves behind her sisters, Deborah D. Brown, her twin of Wilmington and Mary Brown Miller and husband Howard Miller of Hampstead, niece Amanda Ridenhour and husband Darryl Hughes of Wilmington. Nephews Charles “Clif” Ridenhour and wife Jamie Ridenhour of Rock Hill, SC, Tyler and Kyle Miller and Mattix Ridenhour-Hughes.

Donna lost her battle with Cancer on January 19, 2008. She was a ray of sunlight to all who knew her and to know her was to love her. She will be missed tremendously by friends and family but also treasured and remembered for being the best twin a sister could ever pray for!

A Celebration of Donna’s life will be 2:00 PM, Saturday, January 26, 2008 at Peace Baptist Church located at 320 Military Cut-off Road with a reception following the service at Plantation Landing Clubhouse at 342 Gaskins Drive.

In lieu of flowers, Donna has requested memorial contributions to the Lower Cape Fear Hospice & LifeCareCenter, 2222 S. 17th Street, Wilmington, NC 28401. A quote from Donna “Flowers die, money can assist the dying”.
