Donna Hayden Harris, born on November 23, 1958, in Asheboro, NC, peacefully passed away on September 15, 2023, in Sneads Ferry, NC. She was surrounded by her loved ones as she embarked on her next journey. Donna lived a life filled with love, compassion, and dedication, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of those who knew her.

Donna’s warm and caring nature extended beyond her personal relationships. For 32 years, she devoted herself to serving others at Davis Health Care, where she touched the lives of countless residents and coworkers. Her passion for working with the elderly was evident in the way she cared for them, always going above and beyond to make their lives better.

Cooking was one of Donna’s greatest joys, and she poured her heart into preparing delicious meals for the residents she worked with and her coworkers. Whether it was a comforting dish or a special treat, her culinary creations brought smiles to the faces of those around her. Donna’s love for cooking extended to her family and friends, as she delighted in preparing meals that brought everyone together.

In her free time, Donna found solace in the great outdoors. Fishing, boating, and being surrounded by nature brought her a sense of peace and tranquility. Animals held a special place in her heart, and she cherished every moment spent with them. Donna’s nurturing spirit extended to all living creatures, and she found joy in caring for them.

Above all else, Donna treasured her family and friends. Her son Randy Shane Harris and his wife Bonnie Harris, Nephew Barney Brady and his wife Misty Brady, And her grandchildren Rikki Brady, Heaven Brady, Kodiak Brady, Justin Brady, and Alice Mallcheck were the lights of her life. She showered them with unconditional love, support, and guidance, creating memories that will be cherished forever.

Donna is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Randy Phillip Harris. Their love story was one of strength and devotion, and though she will be deeply missed, their love will continue to live on in the hearts of those they touched.

As we bid farewell to Donna Hayden Harris, let us remember her as an inspiration to us all. Her selflessness, kindness, and unwavering love serve as a reminder of the impact one person can have on the world. Jason Brooks says:
Donna and Randy took me in as one of their own when I was 17 and provided for me a HOME, LOVE, SUPPORT, GUIDANCE, and ENCOURAGEMENT when I had none…and also a curfew which I was not used to at all. Like Randy, Donna was an absolutely caring and beautiful soul with zero judgement and complete understanding to a good, but lost kid. And they were that way to everyone. They barely knew me but was aware of my situation and quickly said “Son, we have a home for you here as long as you need”. And from that moment until I left for college they were there for me when no one else was. I am forever grateful to them both as well as Barney, Shane, & Misty for letting me be a part of their family, life, and for being such an important part of mine. Until I see you both again, thank you for everything and I love you.
