Dora Bowden Pamplin sadly passed away at her home in Wilmington, NC on September 20, 2023 at the age of 92.

Dora was born on May 9, 1931 to the late Platte A. and Lily M. Bowden in Greensboro, NC.

She is survived by her daughters Lynne Gideon and Sharon Gail Gideon, her grandchildren Joseph Gideon (Rebecca), Rachel Noelle Gideon, David Matthew Gideon, John Carlton Gideon, III., Jacob Ryan Gideon, Eric Matkins Gideon, and Daniel Lewis Gideon, along with many other extended family members and friends who loved her and will miss her.

In addition to her late parents, Dora is preceded in death by her first husband John Carlton Gideon, Sr., her second husband Walter Lewis Pamplin, sons John Carlton Gideon, Jr. and Kelly Matkins Gideon, sister Ruth Kingsbury, and brothers Carl Bowden and Thomas Bowden.
