Doris Pickett Farrow, age 92 of Wilmington passed away, Thursday, January 7, 2016 at Trinity Grove of Wilmington.

She was born in Duplin County, NC on November 19, 1923. She was preceded in death by her husband William Henry Farrow.

She is survived by her son, William Michael Farrow and wife Cathy Farrow; granddaughter, Wendy Farr and husband Chris Farr and great granddaughter, Mackenzie Farr.

Doris was a longtime member of Masonboro Baptist Church and a resident of Masonboro Sound for many years. She worked at Ballentines Cafeteria and later K&W Cafeteria for many years.

The family will see friends from 3 to 5 pm Sunday at Wilmington Funeral Chapel.

Funeral services will be held 11 am Monday, January 11, 2016 at Masonboro Baptist Church officiated by Dr. Gordon Wright. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The family would like to thank Dr. Walter Gajewski and staff at the Zimmer Cancer Center and the staff at Trinity Grove of Wilmington for all of the care and support given to Doris.

In lieu of flowers memorial gifts may be made to Shriners Hospitals for Children in care of Sudan Shrine Center, 403 E. Front St., New Bern, NC 28560.

    I don't know if you remember me but I met you in your aloarbde camper at the last Third Thursday in Joplin. I was passing out info for my group, Southwest Missouri Friends of Liberty, about the movie Fresh that we will be showing on 7/26. I just joined your blog (been meaning to get here for awhile and I want to say that you are living my dream!! It is sooo fun to watch what you guys are doing! Quite a few of us in the group have dreams of doing what you guys are maybe we can get you to come and tell us how it's going .Also I was thinking about teaching a class on seed savings then have a seed exchange in the fall maybe we could have an event at your place??
