Doris Mae Lewis-Henry, age 75, of Castle Hayne, passed away on Friday, December 1, 2017, at the New Hanover Regional Medical Center.

She was born in Wilmington on October 7, 1942, the daughter of Leroy Lewis and Dorothy Mae Clark Lewis.

Doris was a Librarian for the New Hanover area Libraries and took great delight in reading stories to young children.

Doris served her country with honor and distinction for 17 years as a Sargent in the United States Army.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, December 12, 2017, from 2:00pm till 3:00pm at the Wilmington Funeral Chapel.

The Funeral Service will follow at 3:00pm. In recognition of Doris’s honorable and faithful service in the United States Army a Rendering of Military Honors will be presented.
