Dorothy Bell Spell 76, of Laurinburg formerly of Hampstead died Tuesday April 12, 2016 at McCloud Hospital in Florence, SC after a short illness.

Dorothy was born on March 2, 1940 in Tabor City, NC the daughter of the late William Jave and Martha Eta Lewis Norris. She was also preceded in death by her husband James Elwood Spell, son Billy Wayne Moody, sisters Myrtle Lee Carter and Retha Mae Jackson and a brother Mitchell Norris.

Surviving are her daughters Susie Moody of the home, Linda Watson of Burgaw, Bonnie Belk of Virginia and Tammie Lanier and husband Lynn of Hampstead, son Kenneth Moody and wife Wanda of Florence, SC., two sisters Betty Lou Butler and husband Ted of Marion, SC, Judy Standball and husband Joe of Hope Mill, Two brothers Norman Norris and wife Susie of Macon, GA. and Lonnie Norris and wife Marilyn of Portland, OR., a sister-in-law Maude Norris of Kings Mountain.Twelve grandchildren, Fifteen Great-Grandchildren and seven Great-Great Grandchildren also survive.

Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 PM Friday April 15, 2016 in the Wilmington Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park.

The family will see friends starting at Noon Friday until service time.
