Dorothy Mae Boyd (Booker) went home to be with her Lord August 19, 2015 at Lower Cape Fear Hospice in Wilmington, NC at the age of 84. She was born November 23, 1930 in Shenandoah, Iowa to Walter Gale Booker and Thula Gertrude Booker (Caldwell). She is preceded in death by her parents, and siblings, Bob Booker, Mary Hansen (Booker), Jack Booker and her late husband, Albert Boyd of Newark, Ohio.

Dorothy is survived by her daughters Sheryl Ewing (Mark Murphy) of Wilmington, NC and Beth Ewing, of Havelock, NC, 6 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren and one sister, Judy Genson of Linn Grove, Iowa.

She grew up in Omaha, Nebraska, lived 44 years in Newark, Ohio where she raised her daughters and then retired to Havelock, NC. While in Newark, she had been very active in First United Methodist Church, was a Jayceette and involved in the community.

There will not be a funeral or memorial service. Since Mark Murphy is pastor of Rocky Point United Methodist Church, a memorial fund will be established there; PO Box 6, Rocky Point, NC 28457.
