Dorothy Fields Allen

Mrs. Dorothy F. Allen, of Wilmington, NC was born in La Grange, NC on March 16, 1925 to the late Roland and Lala Fields, and passed away on October 12, 2021, completing her journey of 96 years.

A time of visitation will be held on Monday, October 18, 2021, from the hours of 6:00PM till 8:00PM, at the Wilmington Funeral & Cremation Chapel.

Dorothy was a avid golfer, she enjoyed playing at Pine Valley Country Club. She took great pride in knitting Christmas stockings for each of her children, and her grandchildren. She had a green thumb like no other, and her greatest joy was working in her yard. She loved her family and friends, she will be greatly missed by all who had a chance to meet her.

She leaves behind to cherish her memories a daughter: Dorothy A. Crumpton and husband Tom; son: Jim F. Allen, Jr. and wife Katy; three grandchildren: Jamie, Madeline, Nicholas; along with a host of family and friends.

Along with her parents she is preceded in death by her husband: James F. Allen; two brothers: Budd Fields and Norwood Fields.

A memorial service will be conducted on Tuesday, October 19, 2021 at 11:00AM, at the Wilmington Funeral & Cremation Chapel.
