Mrs. Dorothy L. Rosanoff, 83, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, of Wilmington, NC, passed away with her family by her side on Sunday, October 11th, 2009 at NHRMC.
Born November 12, 1923, in Brooklyn, NY, her parents were the late John J. and May Grant Mc Namara. Dorothy graduated from Girl’s Commercial High School in Brooklyn, NY and immediately began her career, ultimately rising to the level of Executive Assistant to the head of a large British bank with offices on Wall Street.
Dorothy was known for her constant smile, her welcoming hospitality, and her love of family. She will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by her step-son, Paul, her parents, and her brother, Thomas F. McNamara.
Surviving are her husband of 44 years, Stanley; her son, Edward J. Thomas and his wife Elizabeth Thomas of Wilmington; her step-son Warren Rosanoff and wife Mare Coleman Rosanoff, of Goshen, NY; her daughter-in-law, Roseanne Rosanoff of Yonkers, NY; nine grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.
Dorothy would have turned 83 on Thursday, November 12th. That birthday, and her life, will be celebrated on Saturday, November 14th at the family home, from 2:00 PM until 5:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Lower Cape Fear Hospice, 1414 Physicians Drive Wilmington, NC 28401.
