Dorothy McGinniss

Dorothy McGinniss age 103 of Wilmington passed away, Saturday, May 28, 2022 at The Commons at Brightmore in Wilmington, NC

Dorothy was born in Marlin, Texas on April 12, 1919.  She was a Valedictorian graduate at her High School and was a graduate of Texas Women’s University with Honors. She was of the Baptist Faith.

Dorothy moved to the Washington-Maryland area in 1945 and taught in Maryland Schools for 27 years. She taught Boy’s Craft Shop and then Home Economics. She was a member of the Phi Upsilon Omicron, an International Home Economics Sorority, the Delta Kappa, an International Sorority for Outstanding Teachers, and a member of Eastern Star since 1948.

She is survived by two daughters, Cheryl Clark and Linda Dare; grandchildren, Jeff Clark, Kristen Clark, Marley Braun and Tracy Rogers; great grandchildren, Galen Daniels-Clark, Keela Daniels-Clark, Noah Gross, Summer Gross, Caleb Clark, Celestine Clark, Hayley Braun, Jason Braun, Braydon Rogers, Avery Rogers, and Ashley Rogers.
