Douglas “Mike” Michael Creger

Beloved husband, father, brother, grandfather and friend Douglas Michael “Mike” Creger of Carolina Beach, NC, formerly of Roanoke, VA, went home, Thursday, May 31, 2012.

Mike was born February 2, 1936 in Saltville, VA, the son of the late Robert Douglas and Nellie Keplinger Creger, and was a graduate of Jefferson High School and UVA Banking School. He was a statistician for Virginia Tech football for over 30 years and coached youth football and basketball for over 20 years.

Surviving are his wife, Inez Surratt Creger of the home; son and daughter-in-law, Darin Michael Creger and Carolyn of Roanoke; stepson and daughter-in-law, Derek Wayne and Bobbie Lynn Batchelor of Simpsonville, SC; sister and brother-in-law, Janice and Pete Tinsley of Bent Mt., VA; grandchildren, Katelyn Creger, William Creger, Aaron Batchelor and Travis Batchelor; and many beloved nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Special thanks to Duke Medical Center, 3rd floor ICU and 7th floor ICU all doctors and nurses.

Funeral Service will be conducted 2:00 PM Saturday June 9, 2012 at Wilmington Funeral Chapel. Pastor Steve Hall will officiate the service.

The family will see friends from 1:00 PM until service time.
