Douglas “Doug” Raymond Barker, 44, of Leland, died unexpectedly on Sunday, February 11, 2018. He is survived by the love of his life, his wife Sandra Long Barker.

Doug was born on August 10, 1973, in Ashland, Kentucky. The pride and joy of his life were his daughters. He lived life simply with the joy of his bike on the open road.

Besides his wife Sandra, he is survived by his parents, Buell and Kathy Barker; his daughters, Brittany Barker(22) and Marissa Barker (20), all of Leland; his brothers and sisters-in-law, Daniel and Shawn Barker, David and Angie Barker, all of Leland, and Dwayne “Mike” and Melissa Barker of Oak Island, and several nieces and nephews.

His visitation will be Thursday, February 15, 2018, from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Wilmington Funeral Chapel. A memorial service will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at the All Souls Episcopal Church, 5087 Blue Banks Loop Road in Leland. The Rev. Nan Chandler will officiate.
