Dr. Dorothy Dyer Grubb, age 91, of Wilmington, passed away on Saturday, May 9, 2020, at her home.

She was born in Bartley, WV, on December 25, 1928, the daughter of Newman Houghton Dyer and Canary Lucille Hylton Dyer.

Dorothy was a graduate of Ward Belmont, West Virginia University and Ohio State University where she received her Doctorate in Psychology.

Dorothy is survived by her daughters; Melinda Ferguson of Parkersburg WV, Beth Pfalzgraf DeKeyser of Greenville SC, Christie Lin Pfalzgraf of San Jose CA and Polly D. Chike of Iuka, MS. She was preceded in death by her husband James W. Grubb and her daughter Carrie Ellen Pfalzgraf.

Dorothy enjoyed many interests in life, chief among them was her love of music, her quest to learn new things and a fascination for astronomy.

The family will Receive friends at a Visitation to be held from 5:00 pm till 7:00 pm on Thursday, May 14, 2020, at the Wilmington Funeral Chapel.

A Service to Celebrate Dorothy’s Life will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, May 15, 2020, at the Wilmington Funeral Chapel. Interment will follow in the Greenlawn Memorial Park.
