Mrs. E. Regina (Jean) Manning 81, of Crosswinds, Wilmington NC died Thursday, September 27, 2007 at New Hanover Regional Medical Center after a sudden illness.

Jean was born in Hancock MD, August 25, 1926 the daughter of the late Austin and Anna Mae Miller McCusker. She was preceded in death by her brothers Donald and Urcel McCusker and sister Anna Louise Kidwell.

Before retiring to Wilmington in 1994, she and her husband of 59 years the Reverend Harold Manning pastored Presbyterian churches in Winchester VA; Richmond VA. Chase City VA, Wylliesburg, VA, Castle Hayne, NC and Wilmington. Jean always enjoyed working with all of the church families and made many friends. She was a lovely lady that loved doing for others and along with Harold they had a window treatment business serving people throughout Virginia and North Carolina. She also had a love for cooking and a very special love for her grandchildren and great-granddaughter.

In addition to her husband surviving are a daughter and son-in-law Rebecca and Maxie Gibson of Wilmington; son and daughter-in-law Todd and Delores Manning of Wake Forest ; grandsons Michael and Brian Gibson great-granddaughter Grace Elizabeth Gibson of Richmond, VA.; brothers Loyal; Kenneth; Lester and Gail McCusker all of MD. Sister Marian Kerns of Berkeley Springs WV.

The family will see friends between the hours of 6 P.M to 8:00 P.M Friday evening at Wilmington Burial and Cremation Service.

A Graveside Funeral Service will be 12:00 Noon Saturday September 29, 2007 Greenlawn Memorial Park with the Reverend Robert Bankhead conducting the service. The family will gather at Oak Grove Presbyterian Church after the service for a reception.

Memorial may be directed to Oak Grove Presbyterian Church in lieu of flowers 3736 Carolina Beach Road Wilmington, NC 28412.
