Memorial Gifts & Donations

Elliott Snow Piver Jr., known by most as Snow, aka the “Snowman,” of the Scotts Hill Community passed away unexpectedly on August 29, 2023, at the age of 58. Snow was a wonderful father, husband, son, brother, uncle and a proud papa who loved his family dearly.

Snow was born in Newport News, VA on July 11, 1965, to Elliott Snow Piver Sr. and Dorothy Rusher Piver. Snow grew up in Wilmington, NC and was a long-time resident of Scotts Hill, where he was a member of the church and gave his life to Christ in September of 2014. Snow enjoyed spending time out on the water fishing, gathering oysters, blue crab, and catching the seafood he loved so much. When he wasn’t out on the boat or with his two beloved pugs, you could find him with a guitar in his hands doing what he loved most, making music. At 8 years old Snow’s passion for music began when he taught himself how to play the guitar. He was an extremely talented singer and guitarist, who played every chance he got. He was the lead guitarist in the bands Trainwreck and Slowhand. Sharing his music with the world was his way of spreading joy to everyone that listened.

Snow is predeceased by his father, Elliott Snow Piver Sr. and his brother-in-law, Michael David George. He is survived by his mother, Dorothy Piver; his wife, Tammy Theusch Piver; his daughter, Elaina Shannon Piver; his two sisters, Mary Piver George and Malinda Piver; his nieces and nephews, Wendy, Stephen (Crystal), Bradley, Haley, Becca, Gracie and Aubree; his step-children, Jessica, Garrett (Estefany), Cara (Lawrence) and Mac (Samantha) and his grandchildren, Elliott, Zaine, Zoe, Ava, Lincoln and Cattleya. and two very special companions, Roxie and Squirt. He also leaves behind two very close friends, Kenny and Ernie.

A service honoring the musical legend, Snow Piver, will be held at Scotts Hill Baptist Church on Sunday September 10, 2023, at 3:00 p.m.
