Eddie Johnson

Memorial Gifts & Donations

Eddie was born in Takoma Park, MD, to James Herbert Johnson and Gloria Lee Dailey Johnson. He grew up in a close-knit family, where he learned the values of hard work, dedication, and love. Eddie’s father and mother preceded him in death, leaving behind cherished memories that would forever hold a special place in his heart.

Throughout his life, Eddie dedicated himself to his trade as a Printer. He honed his skills, working on various projects, including the prestigious National Geographic Magazine. His attention to detail and passion for his craft made him a respected professional among his colleagues.

Beyond his work, Eddie found true joy in the simple pleasures of life. Hunting, fishing, and wood working were not just hobbies for him; they were sources of personal enjoyment and relaxation. Eddie found solace in the tranquility of nature and took pride in his ability to create beautiful pieces from wood.

However, above all else, Eddie cherished his family. His love for his wife, Carolyn Johnson, was unwavering throughout their 41 years of marriage. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and countless cherished memories. Eddie was a devoted father to his sons, Keith McIlwee and Scott McIlwee, and their families. His four grandchildren, Mason, Kurt, Alan, and Sara, brought immense joy to his life. Eddie treasured every moment spent with them, creating lasting bonds that will be cherished by all.

Services to honor and remember Eddie will be held at a later date, allowing family and friends to gather and pay their respects. As we bid farewell to Eddie, we remember him as a hardworking and loving man who touched the lives of those around him. His legacy will live on through the memories shared by his loved ones, who will forever hold him close in their hearts. May he rest in eternal peace.

How we loved Eddie. From the moment I met him, 40 years ago, I was touched by his warm, caring and intelligent nature. At the same time, he was one of the funniest people in our lives. Even when he was suffering with unbearable back pain, he would be hilariously funny. We looked forward to seeing him several times a year when he and Carolyn would drive up North, with his beloved Harley, and most recently, his two orange kitties. We are totally crushed by this devastating news of his passing. He will live on in our memory as one of the most devoted husbands, loving pet parent, and truly fantastic guy we've had the pleasure of knowing. Our hearts are breaking for Carolyn. Loved you so very very much, Eddie. 💔 Linda and Jeff
