Edgar Lee Pope 91, of Burgaw passed away Friday April 4, 2014 at Brunswick Cove Nursing Center.

Edgar was born in Columbus County on April 1, 1923 the son of the late James L. and Lela Jane Shipman Pope. his wife Lois Woodcock Pope also preceded him in death.

Surviving are a step-daughter Bonita Benton of Burgaw, three grandchildren Bobby, Ronnie and Danny Benton, sisters Isis Fowler  and Carolyn Ward both of Wilmington, brother Harry Pope of Hallsboro.

Mr. Pope will be cremated and his cremains will be burried beside his wife in the Woodcock cemetery in Pender County.
