Edward A. Nevotne, 92, of 3944 Gillette Dr. Wilmington, North Carolina, formerly of New Castle, passed away the morning of February 5, 2024 at his residence.

Edward was born July 17, 1931 in New Castle. He was the son of the late Andrew and Jennie (Zajac) Nevotne. Edward was married to the late Dolores Gosztyla. They were married for 55 years. She preceded him in death. Mr. Nevotne married the former Jean Butera. They were married for 14 years. She survives him at home. He was Valedictorian of his class at Union High School, class of 1949.

Mr. Nevotne retired after 45 years of services as head electrician at the former Shenango China Company. Edward was a member of the Kasimir Pulaski Club here in New Castle; Wilmington First Pentecostal Holiness Church, the Forever Young Senior Group, and Monday morning Bible Study Group, all in Wilmington, North Carolina.
In addition to his wife Jean, Edward is survived by two children, Tamarra Bober of New Castle, and John (Stephanie) Nevotne of Hinsdale, Il; three grandchildren, Brian Bober and Bethann Bober, both of New Castle and Tristan Nevotne of Chicago, Il.; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Sandra and Alan Baxter of Canfield, OH.; niece, Leslie (James) DiRenzo of Wexford, PA and nephew, Todd Baxter of Warren, OH.; and numerous great nieces and nephews. He was known as Grandpa Ed to the children of Carol Ann Bonfield, Samuel Butera, Elizabeth Fazzone, and Warren Butera, who loved him dearly.

Mr. Nevotne was preceded in death by his parents and his first wife, Dolores Nevotne.

Visitation will be held on Monday, February 12, 2024 from 4 to 7 p.m. at Noga Funeral Home, Inc. 1142 Mill Street, New Castle, PA 16101. Additional visitation from 10 to 11 a.m. on Tuesday morning prior to service.

A Funeral service will be held on February 13, 2024 at 11 a.m. in the Funeral Home. Pastor Charles Fombelle will officiate. Burial will be in Castleview Memorial Gardens. Online condolences may be viewed or offered by visiting www.nogafuneralhome.com
