Edwin Cleve Oakes, 83, of Wilmington, NC sadly left us on July 3, 2023 following years of battling cancer.
He is survived by daughters, Marlina Oakes and Kristina Stratton (Ben); seven grandchildren; Seth, Boston, Bryce, Lola, Mia, Anna and Rhett; nephew, Scott Williams; and among many other special family members in North Carolina, Montana and California.
A celebration of life was held in memory of his honor here on this earth.
He was a decorated Veteran who served our country in the Navy for 8 years and was honored with many awards and medals.
The family would like to thank the out pouring of love and support among family, friends and the community.
In lieu of flowers we would love for you to make a donation in his honor to either the New Hanover County Senior Resource Center or Lower Cape Fear Life Care who provided sincere help during this difficult process of the end of his life.
