Elaine Elizabeth Sisia, age 75, passed away on March 3, 2022. Elaine was born in Queens, New York on September 10, 1946 to Sylvester and Elizabeth Steckler. On October 5,1975 she married the love of her life, John Sisia. They were married for 32 years before John passed away in 2007. They had two children Elizabeth Sisia and Paul Sisia.

Elaine loved her family deeply. She always enjoyed cooking and entertaining. She worked for many years at Belk, where many of her coworkers became her adopted family. She had a warmth about her that made everyone feel welcome.

Elaine is survived by her daughter, Elizabeth Sisia and her son, Paul Sisia. Perhaps the greatest joy in Elaine’s life were her two grandsons, Aiden and Landon Benoit. Elaine loved being their Nana, and she was so incredibly proud of “her boys”. Elaine is also survived by her sisters, Elizabeth Stryker and Barbara Lewis of New York and her brother James Steckler of Texas. Elaine also had three sisters in law that she shared a very special bond with, Annemarie Mallin of Arizona and Mary Eggert and Valerie Sorontino of New York. She is also survived by many cousins as well as nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank everyone for their love and support during this incredibly difficult time.

We are so very sorry to hear this news, Elizabeth. Paul, Aiden & Landon. Elaine was such a joy to be around, I can still hear her laugh. We shared some really good times in our Hockey Mom years, and she was a blessing to all of us. Please know that we will be praying for you all, that God will fill this awful void with comforting memories. God Bless you all,

Thoughts and prayers for the family during this difficult time. I enjoyed so many stories Elaine shared while having lunch in the break room at Belk. Some of the funniest stories ever. I new she would always have a good story to share. Such a sweet, kind, person and will definitely be missed so much
