Elaine J. Longordo, 87, of Scotts Hill, NC, passed away Friday, September 9, 2011 at New Hanover Regional Medical Center.

She was born on April 5, 1924 in Stoughton, WI, the daughter of the late Arthur and Alma Aashiem Johnson. She was raised in Stoughton, WI and later moved to NJ and NC.

Elaine attended Beloit High School in Beloit, WI. Thereafter, she married and worked for RCA. Upon her retirement in 1985, she enjoyed traveling and spending time with her family. In later years, Elaine especially cherished time spent with her great-grandchildren. She would dedicate hours telling stories and collecting baseball cards with them all.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Michael of 50 years, a sister Geraldine, a brother Goodwin, a daughter Ann and a granddaughter Corey.

She is survived by a sister, Mary Garland (Richard), a daughter, Nancy Kroeger (Kenneth); five grandchildren, Douglas Miller (Terri), Michael Miller (Claudia), Geri-Beth Magaldino (Joe), Vikki Cannon (Joseph) and Kenneth Kroeger; also ten great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews.

Memorial service will be 2 pm Sunday, September 25, 2011 at the Poplar Grove Cultural Arts Center

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 2202 Wrightsville Ave., Suite 111, Wilmington, NC 28403.
